Rocks and Collecting

When we went to the museum yesterday the kids had to play in the rocks on the playground. The boys have to "rock collect" their favorite looking rocks. So they were searching all around for flat rocks and unique rocks. Daniel and Matthew have also taken up collecting "metal" that they find while they ride their bikes and skateboards. They have quite a collection so far. Icky rusty metal collection, I say.. It is amazing though that we all don't have more flat tires. Because they have found tons of nails and bolts.

Happy Birthday Sarah

Happy 1st Birthday to our sweet Sarah!! I truly can not believe she is a year old already. She didn't know what to do with the cake icing on her fingers. But she did eat it eventually. Cynthia was sweet and made her cake. Sarah liked her little ride on music pony that the kids all bought her. It was so sweet they all paid for some of it, and picked it for her. How precious are those kids!!

Wonderful Weather

Today did not feel like winter. The kids played at Pepe and Meme's house with Matthews new skateboard and with their bikes. What a beautiful day for being outside.

Well we are staying in our PJ's and making a few goodies today. Cynthia is making suped up rice krispy treats called "scotcharoos" and the little helpers are helping eat the chocolate chips.

Scotcharoos

1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup white corn syrup
1 cup peanut butter
6 cups rice krispies
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
Bring sugar and syrup to a boil and add peanut butter until smooth. Stir in rice krispies and spread in buttered 13 x 9 pan. Melt chips together and spread over top of krispies.

The fun things of life

Cynthia being sweet and washing the dishes for her mom. As my hands were all cracked and I just couldn't take the water, not one more time. Thank you Cynthia!

What a great day!

Oh what a sweet day! We had several things to do today, and the children were all sweet and pleasant. Well maybe a few "can I have that's" at the store. But overall wonderful day. We were getting a little couped up in the house and needed the day out. I am so thrilled the children serve others in various ways and don't complain about it. They all seem more thrilled about giving each other presents than even getting them for Christmas. I love it!!

Children and Cookies

I had a good time helping kiddos make cookies and decorate them. There is nothing like a jar of sprinkles in a childs hand.
